The Balloonist sails into the village in their hot air balloon from the faraway village of [Ravenswood Bluff]. From their high vantage point they see the comings and goings of the village at night and can deduce that certain players belong to certain groups.
All players in the game are divided into four groups:
- Wolves
- Power Roles
- Villagers
- Scapegoats
Each night for the first four nights the Balloonist is told a player. The first night that player is from any one of the four groups, but the Ballonist does not know which. The next night they are told another player which is from a group different to the first player shown. The third night the Balloonist is shown another player whose group is different to both the first and second. This continues with the fourth player who is from whatever the final group not yet given is.

New Player Advice
- The Balloonist is a very powerful role as they will definitely know one of four players is a wolf after four nights. The problem is you don't know which order the groups are given to you, so usually you must combine your checks with other information to make them useful.
- As with all role claims, knowing when to claim and when to wait is a skill that takes time to learn. If you have information you think is valuable to the village then sometimes coming out with that information is more important than your life - but if you wait then you might live longer to get even more useful information. Alternatively you might die before giving any of it. This is especially true with the Balloonist as until you get all four checks you can never be sure if the werewolf was among them.
Useful Notes
- The order of groups given is randomised
- The specific players within each group is randomised. It is possible for a dead player to be one of the groups.
- If the Balloonist is Role-Blocked on one of the nights, they will not receive any information that night. They cannot be blocked by a Direwolf however as they do not visit any targets.
