Parity

Parity is used to refer to the point at which there are equal or greater numbers of living Evil team players as Village players. When this is reached, the game will end with a victory for the Evil team in play. This end point is once parity has been reached, the Evil team have control over enough votes during the day to ensure that they cannot be killed.

Players often refer to roles and players as counting for good or evil parity; in this context it is meant that which side does the role/player count for when calculating parity. There are some roles, like the Bloodmoon Cult, who may win with an Evil team, but whose numbers count on the Village side when checking if parity has been acheived, as they may be unaware of who their teammates are.

If there are multiple Evil teams in the setup, the normal parity calculations are changed, generally to be that all members of an opposing Evil team are dead before an Evil team can win. Thus, if there were 6 living players made up of 3 Wolfpack members, two Villagers and a Vampire, the game would continue. This is because it would be possible for the Vampire to kill Wolfpack members at night meaning that the Wolfpack do not have automatic vote control. This can lead to king-making situations when all players are aware of the team of each other living player.
